The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is looking for a senior systems analyst to support training programs for nuclear navy personnel. The Naval Training and Simulation (NTS) department of Fluor Marine Propulsion (FMP) develops and deploys software applications that directly support the execution of the training programs for naval nuclear operators. NTS Training Applications and Support (TAS) designs and implements database applications and middle-tier services used to schedule training activities and track the progress of students.
The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team to support all aspects of design, peer review, implementation and testing of enterprise applications. In addition, COTS software integration and maintenance is within the scope of TAS activities. Job responsibilities will include the following:
Designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs integration tests of operating systems, utilities, and hardware.
Analyzes, develops, modifies, installs, tests and maintains operating systems software, COTS software and specialized applications.
Develops, implements, and enforces security policies and procedures.
Conducts research and evaluates new IT technologies for potential application in the NR Program.
Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or
Master s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience
Knowledge and experience with software engineering practices
Job Preferred Skills
Ability to install and configure COTS software that include a supporting relational database
Experience with the integration and use of Application Program Interfaces (APIs)
Experience with the resolution of performance anomalies resulting from IT upgrades or security changes
