Manufacturing Shift Engineer (Equipment Bias): Responsible equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical leadership and support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations. Defines and writes corrective maintenance activities.
In your role as a Manufacturing Shift Engineer (Equipment Bias) you are responsible to provide technical expertise . This responsibility includes, but is not limited to:
? Drive equipment planning and equipment configuration with the area process/equipment engineers. ? Provide 24/7 startup, volume ramp and operations support for all respective semiconductor process equipment. ? Act as on shift technical resource, troubleshooting and responding to equipment and process issues. ? Support technician team with maintaining 24/7 coverage. ? Responsible for keeping timelines and cost/budget control. ? Work in close collaboration with Process, Equipment and Manufacturing. ? Support engineering projects on shift. ? Work within the equipment engineering and maintenance related business processes, necessary to run the tools in production, as well as their documentation according to quality standards. ? Supplier management own escalation to the supplier of issues (includes following protocol for calling in specialist). ? Able to read and understand tool schematics (electrical, PIDs and utilities diagrams). ? Set up Equipment performance KPIs (key process indicators), monitoring and adjustment according to fab goals. ? Support and execute structured problem documentation consistency ? Advanced troubleshooting of semiconductor process tool issues. ? Trace data analysis using OEM s application ? Trace data analysis using current E3/FDC implementation ? Ensure continuous knowledge exchange on best known methods and improvement levers within GLOBALFOUNDRIES. ? Continue to improve process robustness for high volume manufacturing using statistical tools, DOE techniques, data driven decision making and systematic problem solving skills. Use lean manufacturing and six sigma processes ? Participate in troubleshooting task forces as need and help develop and execute solutions that prevent recurrence. ? Support process and technology transfer from customers and other GLOBALFOUNDRIES fabs. ? Support the efforts of the internal technology development team. ? Flexible schedule to allow for training with Engineer's across the module. ? Ability to run effective and efficient daily shift pass down as needed. ? Develop, train, and certify the equipment/process technicians. Create materials and perform training of technicians working on tools in the area. ? Execute Preventive Maintenance look ahead. ? Workforce deployment based on priorities. ? Develop and execute equipment partition plans and troubleshooting actions to support 24/7 manufacturing stability. ? Interpret and respond to Statistical Process Control charts. ? Create process recipes based on set specifications. ? Responsible for process runpath management. ? Provide initial response to abnormal tool down events. ? Responsible to investigate holds and blocked lots and address with appropriate departments. ? Perform projects to meet Manufacturing indices. ? Support change point management across shifts. ? Troubleshoot tool qualification issues. ? Create/update Standard Operating Procedures to increase efficiency and tool uptime. ? Coordinates information exchange and build working relationships with manager and coworkers to accomplish work steps and to solve problems. ? Interacts outside of the immediate department to exchange information and accomplish tasks (e.g. with internal customers/suppliers). ? Provide backup coverage to Module Section Manager (MSM). ? Actively work on engineering improvement projects as needed per module. ? Respond to and engage in all IRT events during the shift. ? Provide manufacturing line sustaining support ? Flex schedule as required to work with E shift colleagues on learning/training/development (min. 1 week per quarter). ? Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. Required Qualifications:
? BS degree in Electrical, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or other relevant engineering/physical science discipline is required. Preferred Qualifications:
? Certifications in semiconductor tools of interest. ? Understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE). ? Experience and understanding of high volume manufacturing. ? Previous semiconductor industry experience. ? Able to multi-task. ? Able to work in teams. ? Able to efficiently problem solve. ? Able to make decisions with little supervision. ? Able to work with computers and automated systems. ? Knowledge of FDC and SPC. ? Understanding of APC. ? Can do statistical analysis. ? Can understand and create design of experiment.
